2 days in montreal in mid june

we are going to new england for about 10 days and have decided to spend 2 evenings in montreal. we enjoy wandering old neighborhoods and eating in inexpensive restaurants that cater to locals. we tend to avoid the tourist experiences and look more for a "living there flavor".

Montreal is a historical site for visitors.
You should visit Old Montreal that is located at St-Lawrence river, south of downtown.
The other places are Olympic stadium and Montreal tower, Montreal botanical gardens,
and don't forget to have experience about air Canada grand prix

Montreal is the second largest city in Canada, it is a city rich in culture and history, has an inordinate number of attractive, fashionably dressed people, and a well-deserved reputation as one of the liveliest cities in North America.

Montreal offers great budget dining. Venues are scattered all over the city, but the largest concentration of restaurants is along rues Saint-Laurent, Saint-Denis and Mont-Royal est he Plateau. Tasty and cheap ethnic food, ots of India buffets, can be found around the Jean-Talon market.

I recommend Old Montreal for its beauty and interesting feel. It is, however, fairly touristy. I think there is a good reason for that though. There is also a famous Putin place (if you don't know what it is, it's french fries covered in cheese and gravy.. not diet food, but definitely a true Montreal thing) that is open really late at night. I can't remember what it's called unfortunately, but you could ask a local and they'd probably know.
