someone told me that they filmed a Popeye movie in Malta and that the film set remains as a themepark stroke attraction.
is this true, and more importantly is it any good?

I have been on Malta some years ago. Yes, there is Popeye village but it did not give me big impressions. Malta is not so attractive destination and there are not many beautiful places so if you stay on Malta more than 10 days as me, you must find places to do something. In that situation Popeye village can be useful :). If you stay short time, Popeye village try to find better places.
